We only talk about the weekends because we have no life outside of studying and work during the week. They ask me what I do, I always bring up church. This ususally leads to a conversation about Christianity and it's awesome. This can be a turn off to some people, but I won't let that stop me because you gotta be on your 116.

I might get a question like, "isn't being a Christian boring? like you can't really do anything, can you?"

Well what is the boring life? Is it living for Christ? No! The life I don't want to choose is being out of control. I don't want any bad addictions because I know addictions are hard to break. I don't to be an alcholic or any other type of addiction because I want to live for God.(Romans 8:8)
Instead I want to live for Christ because that's what I live for!

Psalm 119:175 "Let me live that I may praise you,and may your laws sustain me."

WHAT I WANTED TO JUST SAY IS THAT LIVING A CHRISTIAN LIFE ISN'T JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT TO PLEASE GOD, BUT BECAUSE YOU LOVE GOD AND YOU SEEK TO OBEY HIM.

Is obeying God like the a chore that your mom makes you do or is obeying God like telling your mom that you want to do something.

Last year, I looked as God's commands like a chore. This year, I'm obeying God out of love. I got my head straight this time. I've might have struggled last year, but I just laugh it off because I'm diffent this year

Jesus Saves!

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

I was on youtube, just like any teenager. I was looking up some Lecrae to help me write my concert report for my history of rock class and I found a video that said Jay-Z denies Jesus.

I've listened to the Empire State of Mind song, but I never recognized this verse around the 3:05 minute mark, when Jay-Z says,
"and Jesus can’t save you life starts when the church ends"

Jay-Z, who refers to himself as Jehovah, which is another name for God. Jay-Z is a free mason, which is a religious cult. They view themselves as a god. It is not uncommon for Jay-Z to say this, he's had other songs that are persecuting Christians.

I think we should be mad at this! It made me very upset that Jay would say this, but I know that in Jesus is salvation because of prophecy that was said about Jesus!

Here's a whole list of prophecies about Jesus! (link below)
http://mb-soft.com/believe/txh/proph.htm

Jesus will save me one day, I can be assured because of prophecy as a reguard to Christ. Prophecy has never been proven to be wrong. We have the manuscripts to prove it in the Dead Sea Scrolls. Jesus has saved me on the cross for dying for my sins and being ressurected. The blood of Christ has washed away my sin and I will be with God when I die

Realizations

A couple of days ago, I was helping out my mom's school for community service hours. There was this one kid, Terry, I believe was his name. He just wouldn't have listen to anyone. There was a couple of kids that wouldn't listen either. Terry, especially would not listen. The bell rang for lunch to be over and he wouldn't go back to class. I told him that he needs to go back several times, but he wouldn't listen. Eventually he went back, but it really took an effort do so.

I just thought "Do I ever do that to God?" Does God ever tell me over and over again to do something? Do I not listen & continue to sin? I knew that I was guilty of doing that in the past. The moment was a really an eye-opener and just compelled me that I need to listen to God and I need to do what He says. I would encourage you to just take a minute to think about that & picture it.

Also, another realization I got was when I got an acceptance letter from college. It's really exciting! Opening the letter and finding out that the college wants you to go to their school. I was really excited when I got my acceptance letter from Biola.
Being choosen by God to go to heaven is going to be so much better than getting accepted into a college. I can't wait to be in heaven! I like my life down here, but heaven is going to be so much better than here. When I realize heaven and experience it, I'm going to view life down here not so great. When I think about heaven in the Bible, Revelation 21 talks a lot about it.

Easter Situation

So this year my volleyball team is going to Hawaii. We are going to Hawaii to play some of the teams there and just have fun by working out. I've never been to Hawaii, I always wanted to go. I've heard a lot of great things about Hawaii too. I've been looking forward to this trip. I've known about it for the last four months now.

Right now I'm in volleyball. I just finished amazing senior season of basketball unfortuantley. Now it's volleyball time. The trip is coming closer, it's 5 weeks away. So my coach and my team talk about the trip and discuss it. I find out that the trip is during Good Friday and Easter Sunday. I was heartbroken. I didn't know what I was going to do. The trip just was a big obstacle in a lot of ways.

So, that night I talked to my parents about the trip and just have a deep conversation about the trip. So, the it's the next day and I just finished practice. I go to my coach and tell him I'm not going on the trip because I wanted to celebrate Easter. My parents agreed with me the night before that it would be okay if I did that. I think it really was hard for me telling my coach that. I just felt that it would be more of a burden if I went. I just couldn't go, my heart was not into it.
I'm not saying that I couldn't celebrate Easter in Hawaii, but I think celebrating down it here with my family and being at the Bren Center, Easter morning would be a lot different experience. I think it would be a better experience. I don't regret that I'm not going to Hawaii, I think it's the right choice.

I've been really looking forward to celebrate Easter this year. This year, I've never been so excited to celebrate Easter. I'm counting down the days. I'm just so stoked to celebrate Jesus dying for my sins on Good Friday and Jesus' ressurection on Easter Sunday! (Although I remember and celebrate that everyday)

I think in the last couple of months, I've really learned so much more about myself. I learned about what I believe and how I should live a more Christian life. I think it's been really helpful and I think I have even more faith then ever.

Revolutionize the Campus Lunches

I'm going to revolutionize the campus lunches this year by using technology. I'm using the social networking site: http://twitter.com/ to help me. I know you guys automatically think "That's so stupid, I could have thought of that." Let me explain why this isn't just anything usual. I'll give you three ways as to why this is going to be revolutionary.

#1 TweetMic! This allows me to audio record the campus lunch messages and post them on Twitter!!! (It's just like Pastor Bobby preaching a sermon and putting it on iTunes) People who weren't at the meeting due to sickness or some type of conflict like tutoring can listen still hear what the Bible is saying! This is what's going to be the most revolutionary part about it!

#2 I can inform people with news, important updates, and answer questions about the club!

#3 I don't know, it's just gonna be awesome though! lol...

Don't Cherish Sin, it's Deadly!

Psalm 66:18 "If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened"

I was reading Scripture of the Day yesterday http://www.compasschurch.org/blogs/sotd/ and I passed through this verse, I commented on a different verse. But later in the day I'm thinking about this verse and all the sudden it really made me think. I hear so many people say that "Christianity is not a religion, it's a relationship." That phrase was re-running through my head several times.

Here's my point, if Christianity is a "relationship" not a "religion." If we cherish (the words means "to hold or treat as dear; feel love for") our sin in our hearts, what relationship do you have with the Lord?! Imagine you're trying to talk to someone and they can't hear you, do you even say you have a relationship with them? If we cherish, if we love our sin in our hearts; what relationship do we have with the Lord? Just something to think about...take a moment and think it through.

Be pacient, God has a plan!

So about 10 months ago, I'm looking for my first car. I didn't want to share a car with my brother. Searching for cars and one day my mom was talking to my aunt. My mom brought the subject up, then my aunt told her that one of her neighbors sells a couple of used cars. Well, we find this Sebring that was in good condition, fairly new, and a convertible. I was attracted to the convertible feature that the car had after a past experience riding in my friend's moms mustang.

So, after a couple days of thinking about buying this car, we finially decide that we are going to buy it. We call the guy and the car was unavaible, someone had already bought it. A week later my mom talks to my aunt again, and she then tells us that my grandma (mom's side) bought the car!!! I about died, she only found out about the car because my aunt told my grandma about me looking for a car. I was heartbroken, why would my grandma do this to me? She did this behind my back. About 2 months pass and I'm still bummed. It was a Saturday morning, my grandpa (dad's side, lives 4 blocks away from my house) and he tells my dad after garage sale shopping that there is a car for sale in the neighborhood over. My dad then tells me this, and he shows me this car and it's a 98' Mustang Gt! We check it out and I'm in love with car. This car had a V8 engine, nice paint job, body kit, rims, convertible, and it was also a stick shift! We end up buying the Mustang, and my life I felt was complete! This was like my dream car. I love my car so much! So much better than that Sebring!

Just reminds me of this verse, Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

God has a plan for all of us, and he blessed me by letting me find this car!
I would also like to thank the people who recently been talking about my blog and encouraged me to write another post in this blog! You know who you are!

Best Moment At Revival Winter Edition 09'

I had such a great time and some many good memories about Revival. Like making the funny video, eating all that good food, hanging out with my friends and sledding, and most importantly hearing Pastor Bobby Blakey preach from the Word of God in 2 Thessalonians 3:1-5. But there was something that really made an impact on the trip. That was the small group discussion we had the night before we left and after hearing Pastor Bobby preaching on how to "stay revived!" So the sermon came off to be really powerful and could have really convicted some people at the trip! So we are walking back to the cabin, we get there and we are just waiting for our small group leader Dan Blakenship to get there. I was getting tired of waiting and I was really looking forward to discussion and we also had to confess our sins to our brothers in Christ. So I decided to get things started, so I went up first and start talking about the sermon and asking questions to others and I also confessed my sins to them as we are commanded to in James 5:16. So I was really open to confession, and I think that me being so open led to others being open also. So a little after I am done our leader, Dan shows up. Then other people go and they start being really open, it was incredible and then we hit this spark where we are in full discussion and just really talking about Scripture it was awesome! I think this is where the true revival happened with in ourselves is this moment. This really shocked me!

The main reason why I am writing this blog is that we were only supposed to have small groups for 30 minutes. But after this 30 minutes were over we were supposed to play games back in the main tent with everyone else. Well 30 minutes are up, but we are still in the middle of the discussion and some other people from other cabins come around our cabin saying aren't you gonna go up and play games? But not one person out of 12 people left, instead we still have the conversation. We end up talking for another hour, it was crazy! I think people realized that it takes everything we have to follow Christ! Why this was so awesome is that people we're not just there for the games, but really here to talk about Christ and being a Christian! There are some many people that are usually there for the games, but not our group! I know it was along time ago, but it was just so awesome what happened, it still brings back the craziest of thoughts when I think of this!

Praising God Even in Bad Situation

So I was mad after not getting an award for basketball at the banquet, I thought I was going to get one. I was livid, I got a lot of playing time and had a good season. So as I am leaving, I am walking out the door, and just thinking "Lord, why did I not get an award?" As I am walking out the door, one of my friends, Lauren pats me on the back and says "nice job" or something on the lines. All furious, I completely ignored her and also did not say good-bye to my closest friends, the Wilemon family. So, I am driving home from the banquet along, I was still mad and all. Try to listen to music to calm down and think of the Lord's goodness, but I was still upset. So as I am trying to get home trying to get on the on-ramp, im in the wrong lane. I needed to get over, so i looke behind me and I pushed the gas (forgetting the cars were at a stoplight) and my car was just about side by side with the other being in the same lane at a stoplight. (I am a good driver, just lost awareness of surroundings) I should of got in accident, but fortunatley I didn't. So then, all frustrated I missed the turn to the on-ramp after going through the stop light. So I eventually got on to the on-ramp, and I'm driving and 20 seconds later I see this car two lanes over to my right. Then my senses told me to look back at the rear view mirror and I see 5 cop cars going 90 mph with all the lights on and I went a lane over so they could pass me, but I finally realizied that they are chasing the car that is now right beside me, and now we are side by side and I looked over at the car and I saw the person's eyes engaged in fear and she presses on gas pedal and I watch the cops go bye me in the matter of seconds chasing her, and all of this happened in 10 minutes. So the point of the story is that after not feeling of giving God praise, God exposed me in my wrong and I realized that I still needed to praise God like for not getting in accident or not getting shot at by the car, and having salvation most importantly. It's one of the craziest thing that's ever happened to me. Just like to also share some Bible verses with you.

1 Thessalonians 5:8 "give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

Hebrews 13:5 "Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that confess his name."

Psalm 118:1 "Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever."

My Testimony

One year ago from exactly today I became a Christian, I got saved! So I thought I would write a blog on it, in memory to this day when I repented of my sin and put my faith in Christ! I grew up in a Christian family and went to church every Sunday, but I wasn't seeking God and putting him first in my life or being the center of my life. I went to Revival 07' the high school summer camp and listen to Pastor Mike Fabarez preach on how to get eternal life, but I was still trapped into sin, until December 12, 2007. So the weekend before, Pastor Bobby Blakey preach this one sermon where I felt very convicted and a couple days later I sinned, and I was heartbroken. Later that night I started reading the Bible and realized that I wasn't a Christian, that I wasn't saved. That I was tricking everyone to believe that I was a Christian when I had been faking it the whole time. At that point I wanted to stop sinning, I was torn from my sin and it left me in tears, I cried for about a half an hour that night. Ever since that day, I have become a new person, my life has completely changed and now God is using me to lead the Dana Hills campus lunch and the Lord has been so great to me ever since I became a Christian.

World Champions

I was just watching the World Series this year, and the Phillies beat the Rays and they were called World Champions. There were fireworks going off, the players crying and screaming in joy and giving each other hugs and their fans were going crazy. It just made me think of Heaven, just thinking God calling me heavenward to be with him for eternity, what great happiness that is going to be. Sure winning a World Series would be exciting, but being with God forever is just the most exciting thing I can look forward to, Heaven is going to be perfect! I was just thinking of the word: "World Champions" and the verse from 1 John 5:4 popped up in my mind, it says "for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God." So this verse shows us who the really "World Champions" are, it's the people who put their faith in Jesus Christ and who have repented of their sin. Luke 10:19 "I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you." The Lord is not going to let anyone harm us like satan, Christ is going to be our shield, like David describes in his psalms. Revelation 21:7 " He overcomes will inherit all of this, (New Jerusalem) and I will be his God and he will be my son." We should be just so happy all the time knowing that as Christians we will be going to heaven and we get to be in the presence of God! Revelation 21 describes New Jerusalem as a place where there is no more pain or tears or hunger or heat when you're in Heaven with God, it's just a perfect place, with no night time because the glory of God lights it up. A place where there is no sin! When I was also was watching the World Series, certain things reminded me of what is going to happen or what is happening in heaven. Like the Phillies fans celebrating that their team won the world series and in heaven there are angels that rejoice when someone gets saved when they repent and put their faith in Christ. Luke 15:10 "In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." The Rays fans whose team lost the world series are like the unsaved, the non-repentant.The Rays losing in the end and some players were crying and sad, it's a Luke 13:28 "There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out." Narrow is the door to Heaven, as the Bible describes it. Same is the gate to win the World Series, only one team out of 32 teams wins it. is There is also a reward for being champions. The World Series champions get a nice trophy and the followers of Christ get to be with God in Heaven and have their name written in the Book of Life, where it can't be erased, it's permant. That's about wraps it up, thanks for reading the blog!

Hypocracy in Music

I was lifting weights for basketball after school a week ago. One of my teammates put some rap music on and it was "the Game". I used to be a fan of his music before I became a Christian. I was shocked when I listened to the intro lyrics "We pray that any obstacle that the devil plans to place in our path will be removed in the name of Jesus, Father. Every spirit, everything that is not of you we come against right now Father. Every spirit of addiction. Every spirit of anger. Every spirit of jealousy. Every spirit of deception. Every spirit of greed. Every spirit of envy. Every spirit of lust. Ee come against right now, in the name of Jesus, Father. Let us say: Devil, we repute you in the name of Jesus! (x7)" I was wondering if the Game had changed, I learned that he didn't, after listening to some of his lyrics. 1 John 2:6 "Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did." Unfortuantley, I don't think the Game has changed because he was talking about taking drugs. Also, how Notorious B.I.G. was like Jesus being crucified and talk about a lot of earthly desires.

The Coming Of The Lord

The day after Pastor Bobby talked about Repentance and the Coming of the Lord Jesus, I was in my chemistry class. The teacher was talking about global warming and this kid asked "how long do you think the earth is going to last?" My Chemistry teacher, at Dana Hills High School said that "it's going to last for billions and billions and billions of years." He also said that "I don't think this world is going to end." This is completly contradicting the Bible, and not true. This world is going to end quickly. Revelation 22:20 "He who testifies to these things says,'yes I am coming quickly' Amen. Come, Lord Jesus." God is coming quickly, and He is coming to judge the world for all it's sin and the world is going to go down in flames. 2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance." The Lord wants everyone to be saved, He is not being slow. He is waiting for people to repent of their sins and to put their faith in Christ, that is why we have today so that people can repent, if we have already repented then we have today because we have to tell the gospel to the people who haven't repented. If you think that he is slow, think again because it says in the verse before that in 2 Peter 3:8 "But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." God exists outside of time, He doesn't even have a day. 2 Peter 3:10 "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense hear, and the earth and its works will be burned up." Don't worry about heaven passing away because of New Jerusalem, the new heaven that God will make, were it is perfect, no more pain or sorrow, there's not even a sun or a moon, because the light is from the glory of God, and there is no night time. Nothing impure will be there, no sin. Now for the world, God is going to judge the world with fire, and it's going to be intense for the people who haven't repented, the names who are not written in the Book of Life, they will seek death, but they can't find it, they want the rocks from the mountains, to hide them and kill them then to face this judgement. (Revelations 6:17) Even though all these times will be intense, we will be on God's side to judge the world and defeat satan and his angels, and we will overcome the world. We should be eagerly awaiting this day, because this day will be the best day of our lives, we will be with God forever!
